Modeling Series 2024

The Cal Poly Center for Engineering, Science & Mathematics Education and The Western Regional Noyce Initiative are pleased to offer 2-week professional development courses: chemistry, physics and biology. 

These workshops are structured inquiry approaches to high school teaching that incorporate computer technology and insights from the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standard and current education research. 

Workshops are offered to secondary educators who are interested in Modeling.  


Approved by Cal Poly Extended Education for purchase of 1, 3 or 6 CEUs.

Registration Fees

Early Bird (before May 1): $650

Regular (after May 1): $700

Registration fees include modeling materials, parking and lunch daily.

Optional housing will be available on campus for an additional fee of $750 for 1 week. See Lodging/Accommodation for more details.

Poly Canyon Village, located on Cal Poly's campus offers a private bedroom, shared kitchen and living space and 2 shared bathrooms in a 4-bedroom apartment. 

Amenities include 

  • Pool access 
  • Bed Linens (sheets, blanket, pillow & towel) 
  • Access to complimentary laundry facilities 
  • Complimentary campus-wide wi-fi. 

Housing Fee: $750 

Early arrival and late departure may be requested for an additional fee of $121.25 per night, per person
